No. 25 Texas A&M (2-0) has looked the part on offense through two games of the three-game opening season home series vs. Tennessee Tech, starting with Friday’s 15-6 blowout win to officially open the year, led by star junior outfielder Caden Sorrell’s two home runs, combined with an impressive performance from freshmen Nico Partida and Boston Keller.
Producing 18 hits and three home runs, second-year head coach Michael Earley isn’t just fighting for his job, but looking to prove that after hitting coach Caleb Longley departed this offseason, his leadership and ability to identify and land talent from the transfer portal would pay off.

Game 2 was a continuation of Friday’s offensive onslaught, as Caden Sorrell’s big night led into Saturday’s home run fest, starting with the junior hitting his third home run of the season to put the Aggies up 2-0 in the bottom of the first, followed by transfer DH Wesley Jordan hitting his first of two home runs on the day.
Things got out of hand quickly, as Texas A&M scored 9 runs in the first, followed by ten runs over the next four innings, ultimately scoring 23 runs, which are the most runs scored since the 2023 season. On the day, Texas A&M racked up 15 hits and five home runs.
Junior Gavin Grahovac hit his first home run of the season after coming back from injury, scoring three. Thanks to Robert Behrens for providing one of the better stats: Texas A&M’s 38 runs in the first 14 innings of the season matched the Aggies’ in the first six games of the 2025 regular season.
On the mound, first-year starter Weston Moss had his moments, but similar to Shane Sdao’s start on Friday, the junior right-hander lasted five frames, allowing seven hits and four earned runs while striking out six. It will take time to adjust to his new role, but Moss’s powerful arm and intense demeanor should pay off as the season rolls on.
