What’s the right move for the Houston Texans when it comes to drafting a player in the first round?

Is it offensive tackle?

Is it guard?

Is it on the defensive side?

Underdog’s Hayden Winks released his recent mock draft ahead of the NFL Combine underway on Monday. Hoping to shore up the right side of the offensive line this offseason, Winks has Houston targeting Clemson tackle Blake Miller to become a staple opposite rookie blindside protector Tay Ersery.

“The Texans drafted a left tackle last year and need to try on the right side again after essentially giving up on Blake Fisher,” Winks wrote. “Miller set the Clemson record for career snaps while racking up 54 starts. He’s ready to go. Miller isn’t overly flashy, but he has a mean streak in the run game and can slide his feet in protection like an average starter. Until the Texans solve the OL, they are unfortunately fake contenders.”

Adding Miller would present a solid run blocker with plug-and-play experience on the right side, which could be considered an upgrade over Alabama offensive tackle Kaydn Proctor or Oregon offensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon, two names likely set to either play left tackle or left guard. Shoring up the right side of the line would also allow the Texans to perhaps target a guard in the later rounds, while adding in a name via free agency.
