Plaxico Burress caught the touchdown that crushed New England’s perfect season dreams back in 2008. Fast forward to 2026, and his wife just jumped into a congressional race. Tiffany Burress dropped her campaign announcement on Tuesday, and fans immediately shared their thoughts on X.
Tiffany is running as a Republican in New Jersey’s 9th District against Democrat Nellie Pou.
Thanks for the submission!
“Tiffany Burress will easily defeat Nellie Pou. Tiffany is 100 times hotter,” one fan said.

Here are some more reactions from fans.
“Plax sold his Super Bowl ring, where’s the money going to come from?” one fan said.
“Did she defend him when he received felony weapons charges for shooting himself in the leg,” another fan said, bringing up the 2008 nightclub incident that landed Plaxico in prison.
“She’s going to shoot her shot,” one fan said.
Plaxico Burress’ wife, Tiffany, is going after a seat Democrats have controlled for more than four decades. She works as an attorney in Bergen County and played college sports at Penn State. Her pitch focuses on private sector experience versus Pou’s government career. The race covers parts of North Jersey including the area around MetLife Stadium.
President Donald Trump won this district in 2024, but Pou still held onto her seat.

Plaxico Burress’s Super Bowl ring sold for $280,600

Plaxico Burress’ Super Bowl XLII ring went to auction in February 2025, and somebody paid $280,600 for it. That price tag made it the second-priciest Super Bowl ring ever sold, according to reports from February 2025.
Plaxico didn’t run the auction himself. An anonymous owner put the ring up for sale after getting it from the former Giants receiver. Burress did provide paperwork confirming the ring’s authenticity, verifying he received it at a 2008 ceremony in New York City with his teammates.
