Kerry Katona revealed she was once warned to keep her distance from Katie Price as she reflected on the early days of their friendship.
Kerry and Katie are currently touring the UK with a show titled An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona, where they answer fan questions and share stories from their lives.
The pair first met over 20 years ago, in 2004, and were last seen together as the wicked stepsisters in pantomime last year.
Speaking to the Daily Mail Kerry confessed that people had warned her to stay away from Katie-but she ignored them because she wanted to support her friend.
Kerry, 45, explained: ‘People said, ‘Don’t touch Kate. Don’t go near her.’ What is wrong with them? ‘I have been where Kate has been. I have done the drugs, divorces, bankruptcy. Our lives are very mirrored. Why would I not support her? No one supported me.’
Kerry also admitted she sees a very different version of Katie today compared to the past.
She said: ‘Kate is not fragile. She’s the strongest woman I know. She’s also more sober, more together than anyone gives her credit for. And she will get her empire back. I am in awe of her.’
This comes after Katie recently apologised to Myleene Klass for mocking her MBE.
Katie had previously labelled Myleene a ‘clone’ and suggested she received the honour merely for playing the ‘classical piano,’ while critcising the TV industry as ‘corrupt.’
However, Katie later clarified that she was unaware Myleene was actually awarded the honour for being a powerful voice for women who have experienced miscarriages’ and for her work in women’s health.
