How do we make sense of the Celtics moves at the 2026 NBA trade deadline?

How do we make sense of the Boston Celtics moves at the 2026 NBA trade deadline? The Celtics elected to trade away backup big men Josh Minott, Xavier Tillman Sr., and Chris Boucher on deadline day, and reserve guard Anfernee Simons a few days before it, bringing back only Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic in the latter deal, and two way guard John Tonje in the three former moves.

What was Boston trying to accomplish with these moves? Did they achieve their goals in doing so? And what do Vooch and Tonje bring to the Celtics as players? Could Boston juggle two way contracts with 10-day players or veteran buyout guys in the meantime?
