Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and Deepika Padukone just put that quote into a picture. For the Cartier Gala in Dubai, she took no prisoners and went all out in bling. Wearing a custom Gaurav Gupta Couture look from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Deepika made an appearance that is a fashion lesson in the making.
For the gala, Deepika looked incredible in an all-black, long-lined silhouette that leaned fully into what has become Gaurav Gupta’s signature sculptural language. The ensemble is built around strong, architectural shoulders and a fluid, body-skimming column that elongates the frame. An open neckline creates negative space, allowing the structure of the garment to breathe while directing focus upward.
And since the event was Cartier’s, diamonds were, as expected, massive! She wore a gorgeous diamond necklace and matching earrings that sat cleanly against the neckline, becoming the visual anchor of the ensemble. Composed of closely set diamonds, the necklace has a fluid, almost fabric-like quality. At the centre, a pear-shaped diamond drop anchors the piece, adding just enough weight and luminosity to make it really stand out. Her hair was pulled into a sleek bun (classic DP ‘chipku’ look, as Diet Sabya calls it), and her makeup was pared back with softly defined eyes and a muted lip.
The actor, producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist was in October 2022 announced as the global brand ambassador for the French luxury brand. Ever since her association with the luxury house was announced, Deepika has been donning Cartier pieces, and one of the most iconic pieces she’s ever worn was the statement yellow diamond necklace she donned at Oscars 2023 in March.
